RespiteAway uses only the cookies and browser storage it needs to work. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track you on other websites.
What we store in your browser

We may read a respiteaway_locale cookie to choose a language, if one is present.
None of these are used to track you, to build a profile of you, or for advertising.
Requests to other companies when a page loads
- Fonts. Our pages load their fonts (Lora and Inter) from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser asks Google's servers for the fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details.
- Cloudflare. Every request to RespiteAway passes through Cloudflare, our network provider. See the Privacy Policy, section 7.4.
What we don't use
- No analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.
- No advertising or social media pixels.
- No session recording or heat maps.
- No tracking across other websites.
Because nothing on RespiteAway tracks you, there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off.
If you use a shared or public computer
Your sign-in stays saved in that browser until you sign out. An unsent stay request, including care notes, stays in that browser tab until you send it or close the tab. On a shared computer, sign out and close the tab when you're done.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. If you block the items RespiteAway sets, you won't be able to sign in or send requests. Blocking the Google Fonts request changes how the site looks but nothing else.
Why there is no cookie banner
We only use what the site needs to work, and nothing that tracks you, so we don't ask you to accept cookies. If we ever add anything optional, such as analytics, we will ask you first, and saying no will be as easy as saying yes. We will never add advertising trackers to pages where you enter or see care information.
